NEXTGen Detroit is teaming up with the Rabbi Leo M. Franklin Archives of Temple Beth El and the Leonard N. Simons Jewish Community Archives to let you in on all the bootlegging secrets and underground happenings of Jewish Detroit during prohibition. Award-winning bartender Chas Williams will share a bit about the history of whiskey in Detroit before preparing you a complimentary signature cocktail. Sip while you stroll through our exhibit of photographs and documents from the era and hear speakeasy stories from the roaring 20s.
