DESCRIPTION:Antisemitism has infected medical schools\, healthcare institutions\, workplaces\nand professional associations\, creating a hostile environment for Jewish\nhealthcare professionals and patients alike. Mirroring trends across broader\nsociety\, Jewish healthcare professionals have faced boycotts and bias\, Jewish\nmedical students have been harassed\, and Jewish patients risk disruptions in\ntheir care. Join us to hear from experts in the field confronting healthcare\nantisemitism and explore strategies to confront the challenge\, including\nMichelle Stravitz\, CEO of the American Jewish Medical Association (AJMA)\,\nDavid Goldfarb JD\, Senior Director\, Strategic Health Resource Center Jewish\nFederations of North America and local physicians and policy makers. \n**$36 per person. Dietary laws observed.**\nPlease RSVP in advance by March 10. \nThis event is intended for both medical professionals and medical students. \n**Michelle Stravitz** is the Inaugural CEO of the American Jewish Medical\nAssociation (AJMA)\, having joined in February 2024. Serving in this role at\nAJMA is the culmination of Michelle’s years of experience founding and\nmanaging a non-profit organization in the oncology exercise space\, as a lay\nleader in the Jewish community\, management and strategy consulting\, and\ndelivering event planning services. Michelle Stravitz is the founder and\nformer CEO of 2Unstoppable\, a non-profit whose mission is to help women with\ncancer improve their cancer outcomes through exercise. She was the CFO of\nSpectrum Management Consulting and has 20 years of experience running a small\nconsulting firm. Michelle has served as an Executive Board member\,\nevent/committee chair\, and strategy consultant and is recognized as an\ninfluential leader in the Washington DC Jewish community. \n**David Goldfarb** is the Senior Director of the Jewish Federations of North\nAmerica’s Strategic Health Resource Center\, where he leads efforts to advance\npolicies that support the health and welfare of the Jewish community. In this\nrole\, he works closely with partner agencies in health and human\nservices—including nonprofit hospitals\, family and children’s service\nagencies\, long-term care communities\, and vocational organizations.\nPreviously\, David was Director of Long-Term Supports and Services Policy at\nThe Arc of the United States\, the largest national community-based\norganization advocating for and with people with intellectual and\ndevelopmental disabilities. Before The Arc\, he spent nearly eight years\ndirecting advocacy for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys\, the\nleading professional association for lawyers serving older adults\, people with\ndisabilities\, and their families. DESCRIPTION:Order a drink\, grab a seat and join us for the launch of our latest Affinities\ngroup\, Entourage. We’ll be kicking off this new men’s group at Emagine Royal\nOak’s Sportsbook to watch the March Madness tip off games with food and\ndrinks. We’ll also be joined by special guest Mike “Stoney” Stone\, on-air host\nof 97.1’s _The Ticket_ \, who will discuss NIL (Name\, Image\, Likeness)\, the\nincreasing demand for college athletes to become paid endorsers and monetize\ntheir success outside of their school-funded scholarships and benefits\, as\nwell as the legal implications this has on collegiate athletic programs. \n$45 per person includes two drink tickets\, food and parking.\nDrop in anytime between 12 and 4 PM.
