Calling all budding archivists! Whether you’re the collector of your family
history or the job has fallen into your lap, this workshop is for you! Over
three sessions, you’ll learn the best practices for preserving your
photographs and documents, tips and tricks to digitizing your memorabilia, and
how to research your family’s past.
**Preserve and Organize Like a Pro. August 14, 2024**
Photographs and documents are important keepsakes, but over time they can
deteriorate. This session will cover basic photo preservation, as well as
methods to help you organize your collection like an expert.
**Simplifying Digitizing. August 21, 2024**
Digitizing your family archives can seem daunting, but with a little guidance,
you’ll know your JPEGs from TIFFs and MP3 from MP4. Don’t worry, we won’t get
too technical; it’ll be just enough information to make you feel comfortable
with the process.
**Trouble-Free Genealogy. August 28, 2024**
Now that your family papers are organized and digitized, we’ll help you fill
in the ancestral gaps. This session will dive into oral histories, family
trees, and advice for turning a genealogy journey from pain to pleasure.
Enjoy the whole series for just $18 or **FREE for**(https://jewishdetroit.org/friends-of-archives/)**.**
