Join Women’s Philanthropy’s Tikkun Olam Volunteers (TOV) for an afternoon of
packing with purpose. We’ll be assembling soup making kits (with supplies
provided by Metro Food Rescue) and hygiene totes (facilitated by Dignity
Grows) for Hospitality House Food Pantry, whose mission is to minimize
deprivation in our community by providing food and assistance to those in
need, while maintaining the utmost respect for the dignity of the individual.
In addition to this hands-on volunteer project, you’ll also have the
opportunity to learn a bit about all three of these important organizations.
More about Metro Food Rescue
Metro Food Rescue rescues food that would otherwise be discarded and delivers
it to a network of food pantries, thereby helping to feed individuals and
families in need.
More about Dignity Grows
Dignity Grows works to combat period poverty by providing girls and women with
the hygiene products needed to participate in work, school and everyday life
during menstruation.
This event is being offered at no cost, but if you would like to make a
financial contribution to cover the cost of the soup making kits, you can do
so when you register. You’re also welcome to bring non-perishable food items
to donate to Metro Food Rescue.
This event is intended for women of all ages. Children 10 years or older can
attend if they would like to make cards for the packages.
