A Supporting Foundation at the Jewish Federation of Detroit offers a distinctive way to engage your family in philanthropy through a separately incorporated nonprofit entity with its own identity and governance structure. With a current or future gift of $1 million in cash, securities or other qualified assets, you can establish a Supporting Foundation that benefits from public charity status through its affiliation with the Federation. This structure also provides access to professional investment management and the philanthropic expertise of the Federation, allowing you to create a customized and enduring framework for family giving.

Our philanthropic team are now 21/64 Certified Consultants—trusted professionals specially trained to guide families through meaningful conversations about values, identity, legacy and shared decision‑making. Through our Centennial Campaign, a gift of $100,000 or more establishes a named endowment that will exist in perpetuity, providing ongoing, sustainable funding for our Jewish community aligned with your priorities and values. Your name, or one you choose to honor, will be permanently associated with strengthening Jewish life in Detroit for generations to come. Endowments may be established during your lifetime or through a testamentary gift.
